Since I haven't shown you much of the kitchen since last winter, I'm gonna join Sheila at Note Songs for her Heart of the Home tour today.
A little piece of advice for anyone who's planning a kitchen: DO NOT LET YOUR ELECTRICIAN TALK YOU INTO POWER OUTLETS IN THE UNDER CABINET LIGHTING STRIP!! I can't tell you how much I regret doing this. There are only two words for these things...Ug. Ly.
That wild bunch of branches in the white french cache pot was another "present" from B this weekend. He whacked it down at the hunt club and lugged it home. Isn't that sweet?
Guess what this is?
He's the latest acquisition in my quest to ramp up the funk factor in this house. More of that mid-life crisis thing, I guess. I so do not want to have an old lady house.
An heirloom blue pumpkin from the farmer's market and a yellow bowl I bought for $1 at the Nester's yard sale a couple weekends ago. The copper fleur de lis cookie cutter is from Sur la Table.
More farmer's market goodness.
I've shown you the stove before (don't look, Lori!),
but I added the fall stuff up above for, well, Fall.
The red candle is a Capri Blue from Anthropologie. Get one. You'll think you've died and gone to heaven... and heaven turned out to be an Anthro store.
The soapstone countertops are hangin' in there just fine.
My cookbooks serve only one purpose - to look pretty on the shelves.
I did make B a peach cobbler (from scratch, even!) this afternoon. It's in the oven while I'm typing this. I'll let you know how it turns out.
Thanks, Sheila!

Your kitchen is fabulous. I am in love with your stove!

Your kitchen should be in a magazine! I love the earthy quality your house has with the antlers and the wheat and the animal touches. I don't know if "earthy" is the right word, but I love the look!
ReplyDeleteHi T! Oh, what a most gorgeous kitchen you have! I'd be in hog heaven to have one like yours! Look at your stove - whoa - and a mantel above it! Love your little cow painting too! Your kitchen is just gorgeous and I'm so excited you came to my party! ;)
ReplyDeleteYou are a sweetie,
Shelia ;)
Very impressive but what is that 'thing' by your backsplash? It looks like an upside down duck.
ReplyDeleteBesides the dead fowl, you have a great eye! Beautiful.

Gurl! This is such a beautiful kitchen! Everything is perfect, right down to the upside down fowl/dead duck. LOVE IT!
ReplyDeleteThank y'all for saying such sweet things about my kitchen. The blog world is an amazing place!
ReplyDeleteDonna, you are too funny! I can't believe you don't like my dead bird art. Well, actually, I can. I did a post about it a few months ago, and you're not the only one.
Allison, I bought the cow at Blacklion in Charlotte. The artist is Dianne Whitehead.
Pam, You would not believe the sale. It started at 10 and by the time I got there at around 10:30 it was slim pickings already. You could almost feel the panic - women were practically just grabbing whatever was within arm's reach and almost every large piece of furniture already had a sold tag on it. It was nuts. I did get a few cute things though.
i l.o.v.e. your kitchen. i can't decide if i like your windows, your stove or you sink best. not your dead duck - lol!!!! you are so talented!!

Your kitchen is fabulous. All the elements you have just make it homier. I also love the earthy colors you got like white, brown or beige, and all the other color schemes for closets Bergen. I also love you stove and that backdrop. Is that a bird? Anyway, I love everything about your kitchen.
